Riot much needed makeovers (eg new HUD) and champion in the last few months, including some large patches very happy to stagnate and reworks for updates released. But the League of Legends World Championship to be the last patch before 2015 5:18 patch is particularly important.
The League of Legends World Championship 2015 will b the eSports biggest event of the year and overpowered champions patch so starkly 5:18 balances will be public (here’s looking at you, juggernaut reworks). 5:18 patch a brand new League of Legends champion teases However, Riot arm has a few secrets.
League of Legends Patch 5.18
When League of Legends patch 5.17 went live, everyone worked themselves into a froth over the ‘They Are Coming’ teaser in which an odd looking swirl would randomly show up above your champion’s head after spawning. Patch 5.18 only adds to the speculation and madness as it will introduce the ‘Lamb’ and ‘Wolf’ death masks which randomly show up and float into the air when a champion dies.
On Twitter, (League champion designer) Riot Wrekz confirmed that the They Are Coming assets are indeed a new champion teaser and many have suggested that the new champion will be Dha Ma, the champion concept created by a fan. However, Inquitee has taken to the game’s official forums to say that this new champion is NOT Dha Ma and has in fact been in the works since January 2015 and so is not based on the fan-made concept.
Also added to the game is the Championship Kalista skin. Championship skins are nothing new, with Championship Thresh being introduced last year to commemorate how he was played in season three. The Championship Kalista get up currently costs 975 RP on the League of Legends PBE (Public Beta Environment) though this price is unlikely to change before patch 5.18 is released on the live servers.
In terms of the balance changes that patch 5.18 introduces, the juggernauts have all been tweaked as to stop them from being so OP:
Darius: In patch 5.18, Darius’ Q (Decimate) now has a mana cost of 30/35/40/45/50, instead of 30 at all levels. The heal from Decimate is been decreased from 15% to 12% but he can now heal from three targets, giving him a 36% heal altogether.
Mordekaiser: Mordekaiser’s base armour is now 20 (on the live servers it’s 24.22). Meanwhile, his W (Harvesters of Sorrow) can be self-cast, it has a 25/30/35/40/45 health cost, reactivation damage has been increased to 70/95/120/145/170 from 50/70/90/110/130 allowing Morde/both he and an ally champ to instantly steal that much health (also, there’s a 25% heal on minions).
Garen: Riot Repertoir has confirmed that in patch 5.18, killing Garen no longer makes you the villain.
Skarner: In patch 5.18, the slow from Skarner’s E (Fracture) has been decreased to 30/35/40/45/50% from 45/50/55/60/65%.
It’s important to note that these features from League of Legends patch 5.18 are currently in testing on PBE and so Riot may not include these in the live version of the patch for whatever reason. Also, the patch 5.18 release date has now yet been announced but we will make a post with the date as soon as it has.
